PRIVACY POLICY
Your data, explained plainly
The Keyway needs no Wreckanics player account, keeps game progress locally, and synchronizes selected iOS progress through the player’s private iCloud storage when available. This policy covers native iOS and Android releases, Facebook Instant Games, advertising, Full Access purchases, voluntary support messages, and platform-controlled information.
Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy describes how Wreckanics handles information in connection with The Keyway when it is installed from the Apple App Store or Google Play, played through Facebook Instant Games, or used through these legal and support pages.
In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Wreckanics as the publisher of The Keyway. Platform providers and their participating service providers process information under their own terms, privacy notices, and legal responsibilities.
Information handled by the game and platforms
The Keyway does not require a Wreckanics player account or custom login and has no Wreckanics-operated feature for public user posts. Wreckanics does not operate a player-account or gameplay backend, and the game does not include a Wreckanics-owned analytics or crash-reporting service.
Progress, settings, and hint state are stored locally. Native builds use storage on the device and are designed for offline gameplay after installation. On iOS, selected progress is also synchronized through the player’s private iCloud key-value storage when iCloud is available. The Facebook Instant Games build uses browser or platform storage and requires access to Meta’s platform and a network connection. This game data is not sent to a Wreckanics backend.
On iOS, Apple may use the Apple Game Center account configured on your device and may show Apple’s system authentication interface so the game can report achievements. The Keyway receives only Game Center authentication and achievement-reporting status; it does not receive or store your Game Center player identifier, display name, or Apple Account credentials.
On Android, Google Play Games Services may authenticate the Play Games profile selected in device settings. When authentication succeeds, The Keyway sends achievement unlocks and incremental achievement progress to Google. The integration does not request or read the Play Games Player ID, gamertag, avatar, email address, friends list, server authorization code, or additional OAuth scopes, and Wreckanics does not store a Play Games identifier.
Google describes Play Games Services SDK data handling at https://developer.android.com/games/pgs/data-collection and publishes its privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
When you play through Facebook Instant Games, Meta determines what platform, account, device, network, interaction, diagnostic, advertising, social, and transaction information it processes under its own terms and privacy notices. The game does not request your Facebook password.
If a supported Facebook social control is shown, Share, Invite, and Add Shortcut are voluntary actions. Only after you select one does the game call the corresponding Meta interface. For Share or Invite, the game supplies a generated game image, preset text, and limited game-routing details needed for that action; Add Shortcut uses Meta’s shortcut interface without that share payload. Meta presents and controls the platform flow. Cancelling it has no effect on ordinary play, and The Keyway does not request or retrieve your Facebook friends list.
Advertising
Depending on the distribution, The Keyway requests interstitial and rewarded ads from Google Mobile Ads or Meta Instant Games. In native iOS and Android builds, Campaign and Yard Time share one gate: an interstitial becomes due after five minutes of active gameplay and may appear at the next eligible newly completed puzzle, with no more than five automatic interstitials in any rolling 60-minute period. In the Facebook Instant Games build, the corresponding gate is four active minutes with no more than twelve automatic interstitials in a rolling 60-minute period. Menu, pause, and background time do not count. Switching modes does not reset the applicable gate or create a second ad debt. An unavailable ad never blocks the next puzzle, and the game does not show catch-up ads.
Rewarded ads appear only after you deliberately choose a clearly labelled Watch Ad action. A reward is granted only when the applicable provider reports that the rewarded ad completed. Closing, declining, or failing to complete it grants no reward and does not block normal play.
Native release builds may request personalized ads through Google Mobile Ads when the applicable Google privacy choices authorize personalization. If personalization is not authorized, Google’s consent state governs the non-personalized or limited path. On iOS, ATT separately governs access to IDFA; denying ATT does not by itself select the Google personalization setting. Advertising still involves data processing. Google may automatically collect or receive an IP address used to estimate general location, app and ad interactions, diagnostic and performance information, and device or account identifiers for advertising, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention. Where required, Google’s consent or privacy-options form is available in the native game.
The Facebook Instant Games build requests ads through Meta Instant Games. Meta and participating advertising providers control ad selection, delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, availability, and the information they process for those purposes under their own notices.
Wreckanics may receive technical ad results needed to operate rewards and aggregated reports such as impressions, completed rewards, ad-unit performance, and estimated earnings. Wreckanics does not receive Google or Facebook passwords or the providers’ underlying personal advertising profiles.
When Full Access is active, the game does not request new interstitial or rewarded ads. Information already processed by an advertising provider remains subject to that provider’s practices.
Full Access purchase
Full Access is an optional one-time, non-consumable purchase. It removes interstitial and rewarded advertising, provides unlimited Inside Help, and lets you open the immediate next Cell without an ad. It does not complete Cells, change puzzle difficulty, or create a Wreckanics player account.
In native builds, Apple or Google processes payment and controls the store account, payment method, receipt, refund, and transaction record. RevenueCat validates purchase status and tells the game whether Full Access is active. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, product and entitlement identifiers, purchase or receipt information supplied by the store, and app, device, platform, and store metadata used to provide, restore, secure, and measure purchases.
In Facebook Instant Games, Meta processes checkout and controls the platform account, payment method, transaction, refund, and purchase record. The game receives the product and purchase status needed to activate or restore Full Access.
Wreckanics does not receive full payment-card details, store passwords, or Facebook passwords. Restore Purchase checks the entitlement available through the applicable store or Meta account. Platform, product-availability, refund, revocation, and account rules may affect whether Full Access remains active.
RevenueCat describes its handling at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
Information handled when you visit a hosted page
When these pages are delivered from a website, the hosting provider may create ordinary technical logs needed to deliver, secure, and diagnose the service. Depending on the provider, these logs may include an IP address, browser or device information, requested page, date and time, and error or security events.
We do not use these pages to build advertising profiles or track activity across other companies’ apps or websites.
Information you choose to send to support
If you contact us at dev@wreckanics.com, we process the information you voluntarily provide, such as your email address, message, device and app version, screenshots, and troubleshooting details. Please do not send passwords, payment-card data, government identifiers, health information, or other sensitive information.
We use support messages only to respond, troubleshoot, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and keep records when reasonably necessary for legal or operational purposes.
Wreckanics does not sell personal information or independently build or sell advertising profiles. Google, Meta, and participating advertising providers may process information to provide and measure ads, prevent fraud, operate their platforms, and process purchases under their own notices and legal responsibilities.
Google explains how it uses information from partner apps at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, publishes its privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy, and identifies advertising technology providers at https://support.google.com/admob/answer/9012903.
Information may also be handled by RevenueCat for native purchase-entitlement services and by providers that host these pages, deliver email, operate support, or maintain security. Providers acting for Wreckanics are required to protect information consistently with this policy and applicable law.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or a valid legal request, protect people and rights, investigate misuse, or preserve the security of The Keyway and its services. If the game or its business is reorganized or transferred, relevant records may transfer subject to this policy and applicable law.
Retention and deletion
Local progress, settings, and hint state remain in device, browser, or platform storage until that storage is cleared or becomes unavailable. On iOS, selected progress may also remain in the player’s private iCloud storage and restore after reinstallation or on another compatible device using the same Apple Account. Wreckanics cannot directly access that private save. Synchronization and deletion are controlled through Apple’s iCloud and device settings.
Hosting logs and support messages are retained only as long as reasonably needed for operational, security, support, and legal purposes, after which they are deleted or de-identified where appropriate.
Apple, Google, Meta, RevenueCat, and participating advertising or payment providers control retention and deletion for platform, achievement, advertising, transaction, and entitlement records they process. Removing the app, clearing local storage, or removing access to the game does not by itself delete records controlled by those providers.
To request access, correction, or deletion of information you sent directly to Wreckanics, contact privacy@wreckanics.com. We may need enough information to locate the message and verify that the request is legitimate. Some records may be retained where the law permits or requires it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the limited information we handle and require providers acting for us to use appropriate protections. No device, browser, platform, email system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure, so please limit support messages to information needed to resolve the issue.
Children and general audience
The Keyway is a general-audience puzzle game and is not specifically directed to children. It has no Wreckanics player account or Wreckanics-operated user-posting feature and does not ask players to provide personal information during gameplay. Audience, age, advertising, social, and payment treatment are also subject to the settings and rules of the applicable store or platform.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child sent personal information directly to Wreckanics, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, privacy law may give you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or receive a portable copy of information. You may also have the right to complain to a local data-protection authority.
For Google-controlled advertising information, use applicable in-game Ad Privacy Options and Google’s advertising controls at https://myadcenter.google.com/. For Meta-controlled information, use Meta’s privacy and account controls. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
For information sent directly to Wreckanics, make a request through privacy@wreckanics.com. We will respond as required by the law that applies to the request and will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the game, our practices, or legal requirements change. We will change the effective date and make the revised version available in the app and on the public page. Material changes will be highlighted where required by law.
