TERMS OF USE
Rules for using The Keyway
These terms cover native iOS and Android releases and Facebook Instant Games, including platform access, advertising, Full Access purchases, voluntary social actions, local storage, and consumer rights.
Agreement and eligibility
These Terms of Use apply to The Keyway provided by Wreckanics as a native iOS or Android app and through Facebook Instant Games. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the game, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the game.
You must be legally able to enter this agreement. If applicable law requires permission from a parent or guardian, you may use the game only with that permission.
Platforms, payments, and Full Access
Native downloads and the optional one-time Full Access purchase are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Store account, payment, receipt, refund, download, family-sharing, and device rules are governed by the applicable store’s terms. RevenueCat validates and restores the native purchase entitlement.
Access through Facebook Instant Games and its optional one-time Full Access purchase are provided through Meta’s platform. Meta controls the applicable platform account, payment method, checkout, transaction, refund, availability, and device rules. The game receives the product and purchase status needed to activate or restore Full Access.
Full Access removes interstitial and rewarded ads, provides unlimited Inside Help, and lets you open the immediate next Cell without an ad. It does not mark Cells complete, change puzzle difficulty, or grant a transferable Wreckanics account. Restore availability depends on the applicable platform account, product, and platform rules. A refund, revocation, or invalid transaction may remove future Full Access benefits without erasing Cells already opened while the entitlement was active.
For a native copy from Apple, Apple’s App Store terms and the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement apply where Apple designates them as applicable. Google Play terms apply to a native copy obtained through Google Play. Meta’s applicable terms apply to access and purchases through Facebook Instant Games. If a mandatory platform term conflicts with these terms, the mandatory platform term controls for that distribution relationship.
Advertising
While Full Access is not active, native releases may request personalized ads through Google Mobile Ads when the applicable Google privacy choices authorize personalization; otherwise Google’s consent state governs the non-personalized or limited path. On iOS, ATT separately governs IDFA access and does not by itself select the Google personalization setting. The Facebook Instant Games release may request ads through Meta Instant Games. Google, Meta, and participating advertising providers control ad selection, delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, availability, and provider-side data processing under their own terms and notices.
Automatic interstitial ads are requested only at eligible puzzle completions after the game’s time gate is due. Rewarded ads are requested only after you choose a clearly labelled Watch Ad action, and a reward is granted only when the applicable platform reports completion. An unavailable, declined, closed, or failed ad does not block ordinary play. When Full Access is active, the game does not request new interstitial or rewarded ads.
Local progress and storage
Progress, settings, and hint state are stored locally on the device or in browser or platform storage. The iOS release also synchronizes selected progress through the player’s private iCloud storage when available. Wreckanics does not operate a player-account backend and cannot directly access that private iCloud save. Other local progress may be lost if storage is cleared, the app is deleted, or a device or platform fails.
Platform achievement, advertising, entitlement, and transaction records are controlled separately by Apple, Google, Meta, RevenueCat, or participating providers. Removing the game or clearing its local storage does not by itself erase those provider-controlled records.
Limited personal license
Wreckanics gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install, access, and use The Keyway for private, non-commercial entertainment on devices and through environments permitted by the applicable store or platform rules.
The game is licensed, not sold. No ownership in The Keyway, its code, artwork, audio, designs, names, or other content transfers to you.
Acceptable use
Use The Keyway lawfully and in a way that does not harm the game, its distribution, or other people. Except where applicable law expressly permits it, you may not:
- copy, redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the game or its assets;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to obtain source code or protected assets;
- remove ownership notices or bypass security, access, or technical protection measures;
- modify or use the game to distribute malware, interfere with systems, violate law, or infringe another person’s rights; or
- misrepresent an affiliation with The Keyway or Wreckanics.
Where supported, the Facebook Instant Games build may offer Share, Invite, and Add Shortcut controls. These actions occur only after you deliberately select them, remain subject to Meta’s interfaces and terms, and may be cancelled without affecting ordinary play.
Do not use a social action to send unlawful, misleading, abusive, infringing, or unauthorized content. Meta controls the platform destination, recipients, publication, shortcut, and associated account activity. Wreckanics does not operate a separate social network or public-posting service for The Keyway.
Ownership and feedback
The Keyway and its content are owned by Wreckanics or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property and other laws. Store, platform, and third-party names remain the property of their respective owners.
If you voluntarily send an idea or suggestion, you allow us to use it without restriction or payment, but you keep ownership of any rights you already hold in your original material. Do not send confidential material as feedback.
Updates and availability
We may provide fixes, balance changes, compatibility updates, or other revisions. An update may change features or require a supported platform, browser, device, or operating-system version. We do not promise that every feature or version will remain available forever.
Apple, Google, Meta, advertising providers, and payment providers may change, restrict, or discontinue services they control. We may suspend or discontinue distribution when reasonably necessary for security, legal, platform, or operational reasons. Nothing in this section limits a refund, repair, replacement, or other remedy that mandatory consumer law gives you.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Keyway is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, compatibility with every device, browser, store, or platform, or that local progress can always be recovered after storage is cleared, app deletion, device failure, or platform changes.
These disclaimers do not exclude any warranty, guarantee, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
Limits of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wreckanics is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for lost data, profits, or opportunities arising from use of or inability to use the game.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or rights and remedies that mandatory consumer law does not allow us to waive.
Termination
You may end this agreement at any time by stopping use, uninstalling a native copy, or removing access through the applicable platform. The license ends automatically if you materially violate these terms, subject to any notice or cure rights required by law.
When the license ends, you must stop using the game. Ending use does not itself erase platform transaction records or cancel rights and obligations that already accrued. Provisions that by their nature should continue, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and accrued rights, survive termination.
Applicable law and consumer rights
Applicable law depends on the distribution platform and where you live. We do not use these terms to choose a law or court that would take away mandatory protections or dispute rights available to you under the law of your country or region.
Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us and describe the issue so we can try to resolve it. You remain free to use any court, regulator, alternative dispute process, or consumer remedy available under applicable law.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms to reflect changes to the game, store or platform rules, or legal requirements. The revised terms will show a new effective date and will be made available in the game and on the public page. Where law requires notice or consent for a material change, we will provide it.
